How to Stop a Charter Flight

Presented by End Deportations

Following on from the direct action on the 28th March, where 15 people took part in a blockade alongside the runway at Stansted Airport to prevent a mass deportation to Ghana and Nigeria, End Deportations are offering a series of workshops around the country working towards ending mass deportations (charter flights) in the UK.

Using participatory and experiential facilitation techniques which aim to draw out the collective knowledge of the group, empowering participants to engage in this issue, the workshop will explore:

  • Why we need to end mass deportations (e.g. the moral case, tactical case, and how this fits into the current political context in the UK)
  • Introducing each strand of the strategy to end mass deportations (e.g. casework and direct action)
  • Practical steps for how participants can get involved.

This post is one of a series announcing all the plenaries, workshops and entertainment at Plan C’s Fast Forward Festival this year. On Facebook? Join the event and follow the page for the latest.
