Climate change and the ecologically devastating effects of capitalism have recently hit the mainstream. While “the environment” might be new for some in the left, the more than human world has been a site of intense struggle since the beginning of colonialism. This session brings together a number of longstanding and diverse environmental campaigns so we can explore what leverage and and tensions exist in current ecological struggles. We will discuss where the campaigns are at, what’s working and what’s not with activists from Ende Gelaende, Reclaim the Power, Frack Free Lancashire and The Nanas, Fossil Free/The Divestment Movement, Art Not Oil.
